Indie Game of the Week - Armikrog
Armikrog is a strange vibrant adventure filled with style and plenty of personality. The games visuals are what sells it, from the claymation to the stop motion animation. Armikrog visually is top notch, with a comedic twist but it doesn't stop there. The soundtrack, voicework, of Armikrog is also a treat for the ears. The games intro immediately sets the tone for whats sure to be an entertaining adventure. Now where things begin to get hazy is gameplay and bugs. Armikrog was a game that was delayed a few times and I think it would've benefited from staying in the oven a bit longer. Mostly Armikrog lacks polish, areas like the options menu, interactions with the environment, and lack of inventory make the gameplay feel hollow at times. While I didn't run into many game breaking bugs I did notice some sound issues would occur after cut scenes. It's these types of things that need to be patched out, which I am sure the developer is working on. At the end of the day though I don't think these issues hold the game back from being enjoyed. If you read between the lines you can see that the game is a passion project and it shows. Everything is there as far audio/visuals, all the game needs is a little TLC and polish.
